Vacheron Constantin and its Anniversary Watch CollectionsTo celebrate its 250 anniversary in the most memorable way, the Vacheron Constantin Company has launched some wonderful time-keeping creations, including four Limited Editions with every timepiece featuring its own unique complications and matchless design. The brand has even received the permission to apply the Poinçon de Genève symbol to the dials of all the timepieces within the anniversary collections. The Jubilé 1755 watch represents the most important model relevant to the anniversary collection. The timepiece is powered by the absolutely new mechanical self-winding Caliber 2475 movement. It has been developed to demonstrate the indications of day, date and power reserve of 43 hours. The fan-shaped hours and minutes hands have been done in 18 carat gold, while the baton-shaped sweep seconds hand has been performed in blued steel, as well as the hand for the other dagger-shaped indications. Altogether, the Limited Edition of 1755 timepieces consists of 500 watches in yellow, white and pink gold with a nickel silver dial, an original anniversary guilloché motif and 18 carat gold Roman numerals at 12 and 6 o’clock and appliqué indices. The collection also comprises 250 pieces in platinum with a brilliant-brushed platinum dial. Five timepieces have been destined to enter the Vacheron Constantin heritage collection. The Métiers d’art watches have been created to honor the long-established enthusiastic relationship maintained by Vacheron Constantin with the decorative arts field. The company has planned to produce just 12 sets of four timepieces of this symbolical collection. The set consists of a white gold watch to embody spring, a yellow gold watch to be associated with the warmer hues of summer, pink gold introducing everybody into autumn and finally platinum as the suitable shade for winter time. The watches are supplied with a new Caliber 2460 mechanical self-winding movement. The hours, minutes, day and date indications are presented in four different openings - a dragging disc for the first two apertures and a semi-jumping disc for the last two. The dials, yellow gold and white gold, Apollo’s chariot and four horses and the sun are depicted at the dials, uniting the miniature, champlevé and semi-transparent techniques of enameling. Diamonds embellish the winter model. The complicated Saint-Gervais watch has been developed in order to pay tribute to the master watchmakers who marked the founder’s age. It has been produced in a Limited Edition of 55 timepieces. This platinum watch has comprised 410 parts to perform a wide range of functions including tourbillion, perpetual calendar for day, date, month and leap years. It is equipped with the Caliber 2250 mechanical hand-wound movement powered by four barrels responsible for providing a 250-hour power reserve. The power reserve indicators placed at both sides of the tourbillion cage with each indicator demonstrating a 125-hour segment wind down in turn. Although the watch will continue running for a few hours when the indicators have reached their 125-hour segments, the choice of 250 hours symbolizes the anniversary. The dial created in 18 carat gold has been embellished with a special 250th anniversary guilloché. The Tour de l’Île watch represents a creative watch-making wonder. It became the first wristwatch in the world to unite 16 complications with a read-off on a double-dial recto-verso display. The 18 carat pink gold watch consists of 834 parts. The brand’s watchmakers and design-engineers were involved in research and development for over 10,000 hours. The timepiece requires the period of four to five months to be assembled. Among Tour de l’Île’s complications there are the following ones - second time zone , a sixty-second tourbillon, a moon phase indicator, repetition of the quarters and minutes if required, a power reserve indicator, sky chart and many others. The white gold front dial has been ornamented with a nice anniversary guilloché, while the back dial features a light silvered finish with a hand-guilloché motif and 3 rhodium-plated 18 carat gold appliqués. The watch developed in 18 carat pink gold is available in a Limited Edition of just 7 pieces.
